Our mission started with a 4 year old child's dream of helping animals. Even at a young age, he was able to understand the destruction and chaos caused by the natural landscape being cleared for the purpose of development. His almost daily persistence in wanting to help the animals was the spark that led to the creation of our non-profit organization. We are proud and excited to be part of such a noble cause, and with your help look forward to keeping Florida Wild for generations to come!
Land purchased by our organization will be kept vacant in its natural state. When appropriate, noninvasive fencing allowing the passage of wildlife but not vehicles will be erected to protect the land. Invasive plants will be removed and native plants will be added to provide homes and food for our animals. Wet areas will be added when appropriate for the area, as well as bird houses and bat boxes. The properties will be monitored regularly for unwelcome human activity.
Our organization will help concerned citizens organize a “neighborhood watch fundraiser” when properties in their area are in danger of being sold to a developer and habitats being destroyed.
We are also able to work with individuals who are involved in their estate planning and would like to leave property with the comfort of knowing it will be held for native wildlife. This will ensure that their property will not be developed in the future.
Keep Florida Wild is devoted to preserving the natural Florida habitat, by purchasing, conserving and monitoring vacant land, made possible by your donations and help. 100% of the donations we receive are used to forward our mission. We gladly accept tax deductible monetary donations, as well as land donations. If you have a parcel of land that you no longer need or wish to maintain, we will gratefully accept it as a tax deductible donation, and preserve or return it to it's natural state for future generations of wildlife.
